The Trump administration says the United States must gain control of Greenland. This large, mineral-rich island governs itself but is part of Denmark.
A White House statement said using the U.S. military is "always an option." However, most analysts say an armed invasion is unlikely. France's foreign minister also stated that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ruled out an invasion.
