U.S. immigration officials say an agent shot and killed a woman during a raid in Minneapolis. They claim she tried to hit officers with her car.
The shooting happened during an operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. ICE agents arrest and deport people living in the U.S. illegally.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey strongly rejected the officials' account. He called for ICE officers to leave the city immediately.
The mayor did not provide a different version of events. He said the presence of ICE agents creates fear in the community.
The incident is under investigation. Local police are also involved in the review.
