Newly analyzed video shows the moments before and after a federal agent shot and killed a woman during a traffic stop in Minneapolis.
The footage shows the agent, from the U.S. Marshals Service, approaching the driver's side of the stopped car. The driver, 27-year-old Taylor K. Smith, then appears to accelerate the vehicle toward the agent.
The agent fires multiple shots into the car. It then crashes into a nearby parked vehicle. Smith died at the scene from gunshot wounds, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the shooting. The U.S. Marshals Service states the agent was part of a fugitive task force attempting to arrest Smith on a firearms warrant.
This incident is the third fatal shooting by law enforcement in Minnesota this year. All are under investigation.
