Kenya has placed third in Africa for English language skills, according to a new global report.
The country trails only South Africa and Zimbabwe on the continent. The ranking comes from the latest EF English Proficiency Index, a major worldwide study.
The index measures the English ability of non-native speakers. It uses data from millions of test takers globally.
In the overall global ranking, Kenya placed 21st out of 113 countries and regions. This keeps it in the index's "high proficiency" category.
The report highlights Kenya's consistent performance. It also notes that strong English skills are linked to economic competitiveness and innovation.
