Kigali to Host Africa's Top Handball Nations in 2026

Rwanda will stage the continent's premier men's handball event in early 2026. The 27th African Handball Cup of Nations is scheduled for Kigali from January 21 to 31. The host nation, Rwanda, will compete against 15 other qualified teams for the continental title. The tournament is the highest level of national team competition in African handball. It also determines which teams qualify for the 2027 World Handball Championship. The event will focus international attention on Rwanda's capacity to host major sports competitions.
