Reform UK's new candidate for London mayor is facing criticism for her bleak description of the city.
At a press conference in central London, Laila Cunningham said people now "pity" Londoners for living in a city that is "no longer safe." She promised, if elected, to launch "an all-out war on crime" and called herself "a new sheriff in town."
Cunningham is a former senior crown prosecutor and a Reform councillor. Opponents have accused her of "talking down" the UK's capital.
The remarks were made as she launched her campaign to become mayor.
