Ukraine's specialized drone unit reports inflicting massive costs on Russian forces in just seven months. The Unmanned Systems Forces claim strikes on 168,000 targets since their creation in June.
The unit states these attacks have caused an estimated $20 billion in damage to Russian military equipment. Officials also reported conducting 832,000 combat drone flights in that period.
The claims highlight the growing scale of drone warfare in the conflict. Both sides now use thousands of unmanned aerial vehicles for reconnaissance, artillery correction, and direct attacks.
Ukraine established the Unmanned Systems Forces to centralize its drone operations. The branch focuses on training operators, increasing production, and developing new technologies.
