Turkish Court Dismisses Genocide Complaint Against Israel Arms Firms
A Turkish court has dismissed a criminal complaint against arms companies that supplied Israel. The companies had exhibited at the IDEF 2025 defense industry fair in Istanbul. The complaint alleged the firms were complicit in genocide. It was filed by the Progressive Lawyers Association (ÇHD). The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office ruled for non-prosecution. This blocks the case from moving to trial. ÇHD lawyer Gülyeter Aktepe criticized the decision. "This ruling means the acquittal of those responsible," Aktepe said. The case highlights legal efforts to challenge arms sales to Israel during the Gaza conflict. Turkish activists accuse Israel of genocide, a charge Israel strongly denies.
