A recent US operation against Venezuela has intensified fears in Iran about American intervention. However, security analysts say a similar direct strike on Iran's leadership is unlikely.
The key difference, experts note, is geopolitics. The Middle East involves higher global stakes than Latin America. Iran also has powerful international backers, namely China and Russia, who play a more active role in the region.
These factors create a stronger deterrent against direct military action. The Iranian government had already been on high alert before the Venezuela incident. Analysts conclude that while pressure on Iran will continue, the method will differ from the approach used against Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
