Hockey fans created a blizzard of plush toys for charity. During a recent Hershey Bears game, spectators threw 81,796 stuffed animals onto the ice.
The event is the team's annual "Teddy Bear Toss." All donated toys are collected and distributed to more than 60 local charities through the Hershey Bears Cares program. The stuffed animals will go to children in need.
This year's toss set a new record for the team. Since starting the tradition in 2001, Hershey Bears fans have donated a total of 648,246 teddy bears and other plush toys.
