A human rights monitor reports that young people, particularly teenagers, are the driving force behind ongoing protests in Iran.
Skylar Thompson, the deputy director of the Iran Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), provided the assessment. The country is now entering the ninth day of the demonstrations, which began in December.
Thompson stated that adolescents are participating "strongly" in the widespread unrest. The activist did not provide specific figures but emphasized the notable role of youth.
The protests represent a continued challenge to Iran's government. The involvement of a very young demographic marks a distinct feature of this protest wave.
