A new legislative proposal in Turkey aims to ban access to social media platforms for all children under the age of 15. The draft law is scheduled to be sent to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) by the end of this month.
The measure is part of a larger "omnibus bill" covering various legal changes. If passed, it would impose a nationwide age restriction on popular social networking apps.
The proposal's arrival in parliament will start the formal debate process. Lawmakers will then review and potentially vote on the bill, which could significantly alter internet use for young people in Turkey.
