Hong Kong police have launched a manhunt for two men accused of a violent assault on a 74-year-old homeless man and an act of arson.
The incident occurred under a footbridge in Tsz Wan Shan early Tuesday. Police were called by a security guard at 3:49 a.m. to report a fire in a public stairwell.
Officers arriving at the scene discovered the injured elderly man. A source identified the victim as a street sleeper.
The victim told police he was attacked by two men dressed in black. They allegedly beat him with a standing floor sign before setting fire to objects in the stairwell.
Police are investigating and searching for the suspects.
