Michael Schumacher, an American author known for biographies of famous artists and books on Great Lakes history, has died. He was 75.
His daughter, Emily Joy Schumacher, confirmed his death on Monday. He died on December 29. No cause of death was provided.
Schumacher, from Wisconsin, wrote a wide range of works. He published detailed biographies of film director Francis Ford Coppola and musician Eric Clapton. He also wrote accounts of historic shipwrecks in the Great Lakes.
