Kazakhstan will lead the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in 2026. The country's president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced the upcoming chairmanship.
He set a clear agenda for the bloc’s priorities. President Tokayev stated the EAEU must concentrate on key modern challenges.
His proposed focus areas are artificial intelligence (AI), logistics, and digitalization. The plan also emphasizes expanding free trade and strengthening the union's global dialogue.
The EAEU is a regional economic union. Its current members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. The group aims to create a common market for goods, services, capital, and labor.
Kazakhstan's chairmanship will begin in January 2026.
