A single Ukrainian drone has destroyed a rare and valuable Russian air defense radar. The strike is a significant tactical loss for Russian forces.
The attack happened in Donetsk Oblast. A strike drone from Ukraine’s 412th “NEMESIS” brigade directly hit the Russian radar system.
The target was a 9S32M1 “Ginger” radar. This system is a key component of Russia’s long-range S-300V4 air defense network. It is used to guide missiles to targets like aircraft and ballistic missiles.
Its destruction weakens local Russian air defenses. The loss of such a specialized radar is a notable success for Ukrainian drone operators.
