Wilfried Nancy's time as Celtic manager is over after only 33 days. This is the shortest managerial reign in the Scottish football club's history.
The 48-year-old French coach was hired from American side Columbus Crew on December 4. His contract was for two and a half years.
He was in charge for only eight matches. Celtic lost six of those games. The final match was a 3-1 home defeat by rivals Rangers on Saturday. Celtic led at half-time but collapsed in the second half.
The loss caused more protests from fans against the club's board.
Nancy was sacked on Monday. Former manager Martin O'Neill will now return as interim boss until the end of the season. He will be assisted by Shaun Maloney.
