President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has forced the resignation of Ukraine's spy chief, Vasyl Malyuk.
Malyuk led the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). He was known for directing daring operations inside Russian territory. Last year, he received Ukraine's highest honor, the Hero of Ukraine award.
Reports say Malyuk did not want to leave his position. He finally agreed to resign during a meeting with Zelenskyy on Monday.
The spy chief will now lead special operations forces. No public reason was given for the leadership change.
