French President Emmanuel Macron has reversed his position on the reported U.S. operation against Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
Initially, Macron stated that Venezuelans "can only rejoice" at news of Maduro's alleged abduction. He has now issued a clarification.
In a new statement, Macron said France "neither supported nor approved" of the methods used in the operation. He criticized the "method used" by the United States.
The shift creates a clear distance from the U.S. action while maintaining a critical stance toward Maduro's government.
