Veteran Hong Kong filmmaker Eric Tsang has confirmed he is leaving his role as general manager of TVB. His announcement ends months of speculation about his future at the city's leading free-to-air broadcaster.
The 72-year-old made the statement during the TVB Anniversary Awards 2025 ceremony. The event was broadcast live from Macau on Saturday.
Tsang revealed his departure as he accepted a special award. It was called the "Thousand Stars Glory Legendary Honour Award."
He has served as TVB's general manager since 2021. Tsang is a major figure in Hong Kong's entertainment industry, with a long career as an actor, director, and producer.
