Hong Kong Electricity Bills to Drop 2% in 2026
Hong Kong residents will see their electricity bills decrease by approximately 2 per cent starting in January 2026. This follows a price increase of nearly 1 per cent implemented last year. A source confirmed the reduction for both of the city's power providers, CLP Power and HK Electric. The lower rates will apply to residential customers. The upcoming cut contrasts with the last price adjustment in 2024. At that time, CLP and HK Electric increased their residential charges by 0.98 per cent and 0.9 per cent, respectively.
