The New York Jets have finished their season by setting two new and unwanted NFL records.
The team became the first in league history to go an entire season without recording a single interception. An interception happens when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive opponent.
The Jets also ended the year with five consecutive losses. Each of those losses was by 23 points or more. No other NFL team has ever had such a long streak of defeats by such large margins.
These records highlight a season of extreme struggle for the team's defense. The Jets' 2023 campaign is now marked by historic futility.
