Denis Kapustin, a Russian commander fighting for Ukraine, has thanked supporters who mistakenly thought he was dead. Kapustin leads the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC), a unit of Russian citizens opposing Moscow's war.
He said he read condolence messages from people in at least seven countries. The messages mourned his reported death in combat.
"It was very touching to see how many people were worried," Kapustin stated.
The RVC has conducted cross-border raids into Russia. Kapustin's public appearance confirms that earlier reports of his death were false.
He expressed gratitude to his international supporters for their concern.
