Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior has flown to London to discuss becoming Chelsea's new head coach.
The 41-year-old is scheduled to meet with club officials on Monday. Talks are expected to end with him agreeing to take the job.
If appointed quickly, Rosenior could be in charge before Chelsea's next match. The team plays at Fulham on Wednesday.
He would replace Enzo Maresca, who left Chelsea earlier this week.
