Syrian Minister Orders Urgent Mosque Repairs After Rocket Strike
Syria's Minister of Religious Endowments, Mohammad Abu al-Khair Shukri, has ordered immediate repairs to a damaged mosque in Damascus. The al-Mohammadi Mosque was hit by a rocket on Saturday evening. Shukri and Damascus Governor Maher Marwan Edlebi inspected the damage in the Mazzeh district. The minister strongly condemned the attack in a statement. He said targeting places of worship is a serious crime. Such acts aim to destroy Syria's social fabric, he added. The ministry, known as Awqaf, manages Islamic religious properties. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.
