President Donald Trump confirmed a U.S. military strike in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of that country's president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife.
Speaking from his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump said the "large scale" operation was successful. He stated the United States will now "run" Venezuela to oversee a peaceful transition of power.
The president warned that the U.S. is prepared to launch a second, larger attack if needed.
Senior officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, provided further operational details. Jericka Duncan anchored the special report.
