Poland Blocks Russian Ski Jumpers from World Cup

Poland has refused entry to two Russian athletes for an international ski jumping competition. The Polish Foreign Ministry confirmed that Danil Sadreev and Mikhail Nazarov will not be allowed to compete in the upcoming World Cup event in Zakopane. The decision is a continuation of Poland's firm stance on Russian sports participation. Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Poland has supported widespread bans on Russian and Belarusian athletes in most international events. The International Ski Federation (FIS) currently allows Russians and Belarusians to compete as neutral individuals, without national flags or anthems. However, individual host nations retain the right to deny entry based on their own national laws and security policies. The World Cup event in Zakopane will proceed without the two Russian jumpers. No official statement has yet been released by the International Ski Federation regarding Poland's action.
