Get ready for a major year of television in 2026. Fan favorites and bold new stories are coming. The list includes the return of the hit romantic drama "Rivals" and a popular, adult-themed hockey series. Richard Gadd will also release a new show after his success with "Baby Reindeer." Most notably, the cult classic "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is coming back. One highly recommended new series is from writer Dennis Kelly ("Utopia"). It stars Bafta-nominated actor Josh Finan. He plays Dan, a philosophy teacher working in a prison. Dan discusses deep topics like freedom and fate with the prisoners. But he has a troubled family history. His father was abusive and spent time behind bars. Dan begins to fear he might end up like his father. This fear could create its own dangerous reality. The show starts on BBC One on 3 January.
