A major winter storm has shut down schools across Turkey. The severe weather has caused widespread disruption to education.
In 50 provinces, all schools are closed completely. An additional six provinces have suspended bus-transported education. Some districts in affected areas have also instituted partial closures.
The closures are a direct response to heavy snowfall and worsening weather conditions nationwide. Authorities made the decision to ensure student safety.
