Belarus has shipped more than 31 rail wagons of military equipment to Russia in early 2025, according to new visual evidence. The transfer highlights continued military integration between the two allied nations.
Satellite images and social media footage analyzed by independent observers show the shipments. The cargo included modernized T-72B3M tanks and heavy armored vehicles.
A key piece of equipment identified is the "Oreshnik" artillery system. This is a Belarusian-made, self-propelled howitzer mounted on a tank chassis. Military experts describe it as a powerful, long-range weapon for attacking ground targets.
The exact purpose of the transfer is unclear. It could be for Russian military exercises, frontline reinforcement in Ukraine, or routine equipment rotation. Both countries have held numerous joint drills since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has allowed Russia to use his country as a staging ground. However, the Belarusian army has not officially joined the conflict in Ukraine. These equipment movements underscore the deep logistical and military ties that support Russian operations.
