A fire tore through a bar during New Year's Eve celebrations in a Swiss luxury resort, killing dozens of people and injuring about 100 others, police said Thursday.
The overnight blaze happened in the popular ski resort town of Crans-Montana in southern Switzerland. The Italian foreign ministry, citing police, said there were about 40 deaths.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
