Saudi Arabia executed 356 people last year, the highest number ever recorded in a single year.
Analysts link the sharp rise to the kingdom's intensified "war on drugs." Many of those executed had been arrested in earlier years and were put to death only after completing trials and receiving convictions.
The 2025 total surpasses all previous annual execution counts in the country.
