A historic church in central Amsterdam was engulfed by a major fire in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The blaze at the 140-year-old building, known as the "Grenswerk" church, began just after midnight. Firefighters quickly declared it a major incident.
Dramatic video shows flames and thick smoke pouring from the roof and spire. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The church, a local landmark, was undergoing renovation and was not in use at the time. There are no reports of injuries.
