Move beyond the beach. A new trend sees travelers swapping sunbathing for skill-building on "learning holidays."
For example, beginners can try rock climbing in England's Peak District. A two-day course with Pure Outdoor teaches safety, techniques, and abseiling. Groups are small, with one instructor for every six people. The course is for ages 13 and up.
It is non-residential, but the company suggests nearby affordable places to stay. The training center is a 10-minute walk from Bamford railway station.
The course costs £199. It runs on weekends from March to November, with weekday options available.
This is just one of many unique learning trips across Europe for 2026. Others include creative writing workshops in Crete.
