Former President Donald Trump has vowed to investigate what he calls a massive fraud scheme in Minnesota.
Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago club on New Year's Eve, Trump targeted the state's social services programs. He alleged they are part of an "$18 billion" fraud, which he labeled a "giant scam."
"We're going to get to the bottom of it," Trump said.
The remarks did not include specific evidence for the $18 billion figure. Minnesota officials have not yet publicly responded to the allegation.
Trump's focus on Minnesota comes as the state is expected to be a key battleground in the next presidential election.
