The next year is packed with major global sports events. It includes a football World Cup, a Winter Olympics, a Commonwealth Games, and a historic cricket Test match.
In tennis, Jannik Sinner will try to make history at the Australian Open. He aims to be only the second man, after Novak Djokovic, to win three straight titles there.
In the women's competition, Madison Keys will defend her title. She won last year in a surprise victory over Aryna Sabalenka.
Roger Federer will also return to Melbourne. It will be his first appearance since retiring in 2022. He will play in a special "Battle of the World No. 1s" match with Andre Agassi, Patrick Rafter, and Lleyton Hewitt.
"It still makes me smile when I think about all the moments I’ve had here," Federer said.
