Turkey's Defense Minister has issued a strong warning against Kurdish-led forces in neighboring Syria. The government pledged to prevent any attempt by the groups to strengthen their position in the region.
Minister Yaşar Güler stated, "No terrorist organization, especially PKK/YPG/SDF, will be allowed to maintain its activities or impose any kind of new reality in the field."
Turkey considers the Syrian Kurdish YPG and its affiliated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to be extensions of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). All three are designated as terrorist organizations by Ankara.
The statement signals Turkey's continued opposition to autonomous Kurdish control along its southern border. It also reaffirms the potential for further military operations to disrupt the groups' activities.
