Denmark’s postal service has delivered its final letter. This Tuesday marks the end of a national institution that has operated for more than four centuries.
The change is a direct result of the digital age. As people increasingly communicate online, physical mail volume has collapsed. The service, named PostNord, says stopping letter delivery is a necessary cost-cutting measure.
From now on, PostNord will only handle packages and business mail in Denmark. The last letter ever delivered was a historic milestone for the country.
