A major medical charity has evacuated key staff from a hospital in South Sudan after airstrikes hit the area.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, removed essential personnel from its facility in Lankien. The town is in Jonglei State.
The evacuation is a direct response to a sharp decline in security. Recent airstrikes have made the situation too dangerous for the full team to remain.
Despite the evacuation, the MSF hospital is still open. Local staff will continue to provide critical, lifesaving medical care to the community.
MSF is an international organization that delivers emergency medical aid in conflict zones. The group did not identify which forces carried out the airstrikes.
