Uganda's Electoral Commission has clarified the rules for the upcoming general elections. It says voters do not need to show a National Identity Card or a voter location slip at polling stations.
The only requirement is that a person's name must appear on the official National Voters Register. Officials will use this register to confirm a voter's eligibility.
This announcement aims to reassure citizens and reduce confusion about the voting process. The Commission encourages all registered voters to participate.
