Syria's Ministry of Justice has issued a stark warning, declaring that any action threatening the country's unity or sovereignty is a criminal offense.
In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry stated that preserving the state is an "inviolable" principle of the constitution. It said that incitement or practices which undermine this principle are serious crimes. These acts are considered a direct threat to state security.
The ministry's declaration reinforces the government's position on national sovereignty. It comes amid ongoing conflict and political fragmentation within Syria.
The official statement was reported by the state news agency SANA.
