Ten fire services in England fought a record number of wildfires in 2025. Official data shows they tackled nearly 27,000 grass, forest, and crop fires.
This happened during the UK's hottest spring and summer ever recorded. The prolonged dry weather created perfect conditions for fires to start and spread.
