China's Airline Giant Bets $9.5 Billion on European Jets

Air China has placed a massive order for 60 new passenger jets from European manufacturer Airbus. The deal is worth an estimated $9.53 billion. The state-owned carrier, China's flagship airline, will buy A320neo family aircraft. These are single-aisle, fuel-efficient planes commonly used for short and medium-haul flights. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028 and run through 2032. The purchase will significantly expand and modernize Air China's fleet. This major investment in European aviation technology highlights the ongoing demand for air travel in China. It also represents a key strategic order for Airbus in the important Asian market.
