Australian authorities have confirmed the man who killed six people at a Bondi Beach shopping center acted alone. There is no evidence he was part of a broader network.
Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett stated the investigation has found no links to organized terror cells. The attacker, identified as 40-year-old Joel Cauchi, was shot and killed by a police officer during the attack last Saturday.
Five women and one man died in the violence. Twelve others were injured, including a nine-month-old baby whose mother was killed.
Commissioner Barrett emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the community related to the attack. The investigation into Cauchi’s motives continues, with a focus on his mental health history.
