Jordan has strongly condemned a new Israeli law that stops providing electricity and water to the offices of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
In a statement, Jordan's Foreign Ministry said the law disrupts UNRWA's critical humanitarian operations. It also stated the move breaks international law.
The law targets UNRWA facilities in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The agency provides essential services like education and healthcare to millions of registered Palestinian refugees across the region.
Israel has long accused some UNRWA staff of having ties to militant groups. The new law is seen as a further escalation of this dispute.
Jordan warned that cutting off utilities threatens the stability of the entire region. It called on Israel to reverse the decision immediately.
