A new exhibition of traditional Syrian handicrafts opened Saturday in the historic town of Maaloula.
Located northeast of the capital Damascus, the event is titled “Our Victory Is Celebration.” It features handmade works by artisans from Damascus and nearby regions.
The Damascus countryside Tourism Directorate organized the exhibition with local cultural groups. Officials say it aims to showcase Syria's cultural heritage.
Maaloula itself is a significant site, known as one of the last places where Aramaic, the language of Jesus, is still spoken.
