Kenya's Anti-Counterfeit Agency Chairman Denies Bribery Charges, Released on Bail

The chairman of Kenya's Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) has pleaded not guilty to corruption charges. Josphat Gichunge Kabeabea appeared in court after prosecutors accused him of soliciting and accepting a bribe.
Authorities allege that Kabeabea received five million Kenyan shillings from a businessman. The court released him on a bail of one million shillings.
The case will proceed as the chairman maintains his innocence. The ACA is the national body responsible for combating trade in counterfeit goods.
