A man arrested for stabbing three women on the Paris Metro has been moved from police custody to a psychiatric facility, prosecutors announced Saturday.
The attacks occurred Friday at three separate stations along the busy Line 3, which crosses central Paris. The city's year-end holiday celebrations were underway at the time.
All three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Prosecutors stated that continued police detention was not justified due to the suspect's mental state. The investigation into the stabbings is ongoing.
