A Malaysian court has sentenced former Prime Minister Najib Razak to 15 additional years in prison. The ruling on Friday, December 26, is part of a major corruption case linked to the 1MDB state investment fund.
Najib was found guilty of abuse of power and money laundering. The charges relate to the multi-billion dollar 1MDB scandal, a sovereign wealth fund created to benefit Malaysia's economy.
This is his second prison sentence. He is already serving a separate 12-year term for other 1MDB-related crimes.
