Israeli military vehicles conducted a new ground incursion into southern Syria on Saturday.
According to a report from Syria's state news agency, a force of six Israeli armored vehicles entered near the village of Taranga. The operation extended to the outskirts of the town of Jabata al-Khashab in the northern countryside of Quneitra province.
The vehicles reportedly entered from the direction of Telloul al-Hamr. The Israeli military has not commented on the reported incursion.
Such ground operations across the demarcation line are rare. Israel frequently conducts air strikes in Syria but seldom deploys ground troops across the border.
